This report highlights behaviors/patterns I noticed when watching previous fights. The criteria I am looking for are things that occur multiple times across multiple fights. I view these as tendencies that are likely for the fighter to continue doing in the future.
I also try to capture general information to provide some insight into what type of fighter they are.
Hopefully there is something in here that can help. 👊

# General Notes

Joaquim Silva has been the the UFC since 2015, with a total of 10 fights in the UFC. Total record in the UFC is:

* 3 wins by decision.
* 3 wins by KO/TKO.
* 1 loss by decision.
* 3 losses by KO/TKO.

Though his nickname is `Netto BJJ`, submissions do not seem to be his focus. His last submission win was prior to the UFC in 2014.

\*\* Opinion \*\*
Can't really prove this, but I don't think he would handle mental warfare very well and could get baited into being reckless, then exploited.

I say this because he generally seems like he has a big ego based on the way he carries himself in fights, interviews, etc. For example, he does a little `swag` shakeoff move when he gets hit or lands a good shot and tries to play it off cool. If he gets hit with a shot, he will often try to throw that same shot back. Things like that.

# Stance

```
Primarily orthodox fighter. He does switch to southpaw occasionally. In my opinion he doesn't look very comfortable in southpaw, and he typically switches back to orthodox. May switch to southpaw to quickly take space and throw a couple shots.
```
His stance is wide, keeping his feet apart with a wide base.

```
Regularly feints, exhaggerating his head movement like his loading up a shot and changing his level.
# Tendencies
```
Prefers to stay at range and loads up big shot. Moving back & planting backfoot. It looks like he is trying to draw his opponent into space to land a power shot.

He seems to have good power and speed. He is usually looking to explode in with 1 or 2 power shots.

```
He likes to create a frame with his lead hand while retreating. He spends much of his time in fights slowly circling off to his right.
```
In his last two fights I've noticed he started throwing more hooks. He often uses it like a check hook. As he his moving back and circling in his typical style, he will use the hook at a distance.

```
He has been knocked out by southpaw lefthook 2x in his last 5 fights. The first one while loading up a strike and coming forward, the second one while at distance and circling to his left. Two clips below.
